Bassett USD has launched a new mental health service with Hazel Health. With Hazel Health, students can meet with a licensed therapist virtually for a therapy appointment. Services are available at school and at home, and are at no cost to families.

BUSD will be hosting a parent academy at Torch Middle School on October 28, 2023 from 8am to 1pm. Join us for Parent awareness workshops, parent skills session and student performances. We hope to see you there.

Starting as early as preschool and kindergarten, regular attendance is essential for students gaining the academic and social skills they need to thrive. Research shows that when students are chronically absent (missing 10% or more of the school year or 18 days over an entire year), they are less likely to read proficiently by third grade, achieve in middle school and graduate from high school.

The Board of Education is seeking interested applicants to be appointed as the Board's representative to the Personnel Commission. Interested Los Angeles County residents should submit a letter of interest no later than Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 3:00pm to Alexandra Zuniga, Senior Administrative Assistant to The Superintendent at 904 Willow Avenue La Puente, CA 91746. Candidates will be interviewed by the
Board of Education and an appointment will be made by no later than Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

Pursuant to Education Code (EC) Section 60119 the District is required to hold
an annual public hearing and adopt a resolution stating whether each pupil in
the district has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials in specified subjects. The Bassett Unified School District will hold a public hearing on Instructional Materials at the regular meeting of the Board of Education.

The Bassett Unified School District is seeking committed substitute teachers to ensure our students receive quality instruction while their teacher is away.
