Don Julian Library Reopening!

Don Julian Library Reopening Ceremony took place on March 2, 2022 after being closed for almost 2 years.
Principal Arceo welcomed guests to this celebration and reopening with new book, new furniture, and flexible learning spaces designed to get students excited about learning and reading.
There were three student speakers at the opening ceremony. Miss Valeria Salinas Cruz, 7th Grade, spoke about how reading has impacted her learning and the excitement that a new book and new learning brings. Miss Salinas Cruz has scored top scores at Don Julian in the past two years in AR Scores, and she is excited to have the library reopened.
Next to speak was Second Grader Jonathan Sanchez, who read a Dr. Seuss Poem in honor of Read Across America week, and in Honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Lastly, Isabella Francisco read an original poem celebrating Dr. Seuss, reading, and our new Library.
Guests of honor Dr. Alejandro Alvarez, Superintendent, and Dr. Diana Medina-Kinnart, Executive Director of Educational Services, helped Miss Salinas Cruz cut the ribbon and open the Library to students, after which students were able to take a brief tour of the renovated and reopened library.
Classes are already signed up to visit and experience the new reading spaces and book collections, brought together by Principal Arceo and new Librarian Veronica Sanchez.
